Chinatown or Asian businesses are actually spread out in addition to Bellaire/Ranchester to Eldridge. You have businesses on Wilcrest/Beechnut, Beechnut/Boone, Bltwy8/Beechnut. I'm guessing the OP meant Bellaire between Bltwy8 and Ranchester.

DiHo Square huh.

Not sure about that, but at the Welcome Food Center I think the most dangerous thing there is the bathroom. That'll burn your eyes right out of their sockets.

I also heard this stuff they sell there called ''Pig Dudu'' is pretty dangerous, so I had to buy it...

I haven't opened it yet, but I guess we shall see.

I lived 7 years in to Chinatown, I seen shooting in Crain Park and mugging in Collins Elementry School. The apartment residents in the area are dangerous.

I've lived in Chinatown and/or frequently been there 2-3 times a week for the past 15 years at least and yes. It can be dangerous and unsafe but I have yet to witness anything. Just be smart like anywhere else and you should be fine.

The crime rate is high because of the people living in the apartments but there is a police station in the Welcome Food center and the place is always packed with people during the day. Late night is when you should get a little worried. I've driven a Lexus my whole life and I have yet to get mugged, robbed, assaulted, or any other mischievous thing done to me.

When I lived in Chinatown my house was broken into twice in 10 years. I also lived in Sugar Land for five years and my house in Sugar Land was broken into three times. I lived right across the street from Clements as well so it's not even an area that has high crime in Sugar Land.

Take all the advice you want from everyone on the board because you will hear both sides about shootings, robberies, and assaults but just be smart about everything and you should be fine.

Chinatown looks pretty safe to me but yes, it does look like a good hunting ground for the bad elements of our society.
I also live near chinatown and we have never been broken into. We only got an alarm monitoring after 5 years and so far spent $500 paying for false alarms thanks to my wife & kid
