Don't go by the stated population of Webster (whatever it is). It is just a small part of a much greater suburban area generally called Clear Lake. If you wind up in the city limits of Webster it may affect where your taxes go - how your trash is collected - law enforcement, etc. It will not affect your school - as school district lines are not drawn in conjunction with city lines.

Otherwise most of what you read about Clear Lake will apply to Webster proper.

It is generally a very desirable area although individual areas may be less so. Good luck on the move!

Webster is kind of a non-city. It is a city, but it's really just a part of Clear Lake (and Clear Lake was annexed by Houston a few decades ago, so everyone there has a "Houston" address). There is a hospital there, and a very overzealous police department. But no one really lives there. There are some older homes, but not very many. They don't have a grocery store, etc.... So, people mostly live in Clear Lake, Friendswood, or League City. There is also some very, very seedy areas of Webster along Nasa Rd. 1. Lots of old apartments that attract drug users and crime.

There's definitely some round-the-clock partying going on in those places. Lots of basketball, too. Southern Louisiana influence fo sho. That part of Clear Lake has some edge. When I look back at single life, working a full time bull**** job with benefits, I wouldn't hesitate living there at all.
