I am thinking about putting an offer on a home in Norhill (heights area) that is above $475,000. I was not very familiar with Norhill until recently and was told that it is very similar to the Woodland Heights. I would appreciate any insight and whether or not, a house of $475 and up is too expensive for the area. I don't want to have one of the most expensive homes in the neighborhood.

Would I be better off buying in the Heights, Rice Military, or some other area? Looking forward to responses!

Have your realtor give you a CMA for the neighborhood.

I did but there weren't enough homes in the area for me to feel comfortable. That's why I am asking people on this forum who may be more familiar with the area to share their opinions.

Norhill is a great gem. It has a great location and easy access to freeways. You will get different opinions on whether it's worth it or not. It really depends on the house.

For that price you can get a similar home in a more established and known neighborhood. I know the area because I use to live in the Heights, but other might say, "where?"

What are you looking for in a neighborhood?

City Love, thanks for the reply. I am just wondering if Norhill is to the heights what Cottage Grove is to Rice Military. I don't want to pay too much money and be in one of the most expensive homes in a "starter community."

If this is the area just south of 610 nort loop along Yale I would stay away from it area is some what ghetteo & $475k for the area is over priced. You can find a nice home in a much better area about 1 1/2 miles west south west

Default 2 for 1

You can get almost two in the Heights proper for that price these days. I know. I had a friend who recently sold and so did my sister. Nice homes, both of them. Proceed with caution.
