Webster's a nice city. It's basically a small city that is part of the larger Clear Lake area. You're kind of out there on the Gulf Freeway away from downtown and especially the west side of the city which goes on forever. It's a nice part of town though and there's most of what you need out there. If you're into boating it's the best part of the city to live.

Where will you be working? And what are you looking for in a neighborhood or area?

i would suggest you consider Friendswood, a neighboring town to Clear Lake/Webster. Its a bit smaller, located close to shopping, the beach, restaurants, great schools, affordable housing, low taxes (no mud in most), lots of family activities, sports, etc.

Webster is way down southeast of Houston, near NASA, about 30 minutes north of Galveston and the beach.

They have really good cops there. They set up speed traps all along NASA Parkway.

One of the highest areas for stolen cars is from the commercial areas at I-45 and NASA Parkway - they steal them and then drive them down to the beach and strip them.

Why Webster?

That's all I know about Webster.

Does Webster go to the Clear Creek ISD/Clear Lake? If so, they are really good schools!

We need to know more about you to be able to help you.

Where will you work?
What kind of price point are you looking for?
Schools obviously a factor; there are good schools all over Houston, each with its own fierce partisan group on here.
Tolerance for a long commute? (What do you consider "long"?).
Closeness to the beach a must for you? (you mention Webster...).
Closeness to airport---Hobby's great (my favorite), but for anything other than Southwest, Intercontinental is a long way from there.
Closeness to Texas Medical Center?
Closeness to professional sports/arts/shopping/restaurants?
Is race an issue for you? All races are all over Houston, but there are pockets around, if you want to live mostly-black, mostly -hispanic, mostly-white, mostly-asian---or if you prefer a mixture---

Other than the traffic (I was down there last week for a funeral; YIKES the traffic), Webster seems nice enough. Friendswood is a nice place.

What is there to do at the beach, since the water is kind of dirty and the sand is not clean? There is not much of a night life there either, right, like Miami or other coastal cities?
