Movers are only good as the crew you've gotten. We've been transferred around the country more times than I can count...all relos with the same company. Have used Allied, Bekins, Mayflower, multiple times. Sometimes, they were excellent, sometimes, not so much. You get one guy on a crew who is worthless or lazy, and you can find your move going downhill quickly. Unfortunately, one can never hand pick the crew....
Your packing crew is different than your driver and his loading crew. We actually sent a driver and his crew away one time....guy seemed to be more interested in flirting with the packing crew woman. Also reeked of alcohol and I'm more than sure he was drunk. (We did report him and his crew to the company)It put our loading back 2 days, but , we still think we made the right decision in dismissing him. We used the same company about 2 yrs. later and it was one of the best moves we'd ever had. Not a thing broken or lost and great, outstanding, hard-working crew!

Default is it a stupid move, relocate to houston from FL

our current lease in florida is ending soon and we are going to rent temporarily for 3 months and then move to houston
1. one move is to get inter state movers , get most stuff shifted to houston and put it up in storage in houston ( risk would be that we would only be able to see or open our stuff after 3 months , so wont know about damage till then and actually even thinking of renting in houston for 3 months and buy and then move everything to new house) is it crazy to not check status of stuff for 6 months and let it stay in storage as long as it is reliable movers
2. or move it to storage in florida and then after three months move everything to houston to rental place and then third time move to the place we will buy in houston
