I have been seeing a lot more than usual lately and it is no doubt coming from some of the really high unemployment rate states. In fact I saw 4 from California just on Friday. Also I have seen Mississippi, Nevada, and Florida frequently.

I see a lot of Michigan and New York. I don't see any Cali ones around my area though.
I just hope they had jobs before they came here.

I have had several clients from Chicago in the last 4 months - New Yorkers have also increased.

I have been noticing this for many, many months now. I often look at the plates to see if they are from Texas or not. I actually noticed it last year to be honest. As long as they are bringing the laid back Cali women then I'm cool, haha.

These are the plates I have seen over time:

Louisiana (of course)
Michigan
Florida
New York (few)
Cali
Washington (few)
Oklahoma
Kansas (few)
Tennessee (few)
Virginia (more than usual)
Chicago (few)
Connecticut
Oh, and I forgot about Georgia

Remember all the out of state plates driving around Galveston after the storm? They far outnumbered Texas plates. I would say more Michigan then any other. Many had hand painted signs taped to their bumper or door that said need work or something simular.

They all left in a hurry since little construction work ever materialized.

I do know most all of the refineries in Texas City and Pasadena have hired a very large number of temporary workers for retooling or whatever they call it. The local RV parks and long term motels are all full with these workers. There is one whole row of Indiana plates on one side of the park.
