Woodlands Mall worker reports robbery at gunpoint | Houston & Texas News | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

I still haven't determined what would be worse. Getting mugged at gunpoint in a parking lot at the Woodlands Mall or getting ambushed by women running kiosks in The Galleria.

OMG, you mean the people in Galleria 4 or 53 or whatever phase it is, "excuse me sir, excuse me, let me hawk this product, blah blah blah. I despise that.
It is one more thing that makes me think the Galleria is not what it was when Hines had it.

I went there last week to return my daughter's "Nightmare Before Christmas" sweater and finally gave in to some poor pretty lil Eastern European lady who practically chased after me. I talked to her for a few minutes until she stuck out her hand and asked to see mine so she could read my future. I told her, "There's no reason to read my future, I already know what it is." She said, "Really? What is it?" I told her, "My future involves my money staying in my wallet for a very very long time." She laughed awkwardly and seemed quite surprised I was able to deflect her charm and looks. I suppose they figure if you actually talk to them the sale is in the bag, especially if you are some gumpy white dude such as myself.

Stores located anywhere near these kiskos never get my business because I'm always RUNNING to get away from those creepy sales people. They're just about as bad in the Katy Mills Mall as well.

If only you could just feed them to the giant alligator outside the Rainforest Cafe...

Maybe it is just my suspicious gene, but this made me question...

"The robber drove away in the woman's silver Volkswagen Jetta. Deputies said the woman had just come from a bank and left a money bag — along with her purse — inside the car."

How does one leave a money bag & purse in a car if you are returning to work? Could she have known she was going to be robbed? It says someone "came up behind her" leading one to believe she was standing outside her car already. Most women I know, grab their handbag before they get out of the car and especially if you have a money bag. Was she going to lean back in the car and retrieve it? Go around to the passenger side? Just sounds fishy to me...
