I am wondering if anyone knows what the River Bend community is like in Kingwood? We are looking at building a new home there through Meritage Homes. The schools there also appears to be great - shadow forest, riverwood and kingwood high. We are also considering Autumn Lakes in the Harris county part of Friendswood/ league city - built by Brighton Homes. We are currently in friendswood ( also Harris county part) but keeping our options open. My husband work at the medical center and we also two elementary aged children so good schools are important. We heard kingwood is a nice area.... Any thoughts on the river bend area and schools vs. Autumn lakes and schools?

River Bend is a great area and Meritage is a great builder. Only drawback to living in the back of Kingwood is it adds a bit to your commute. I bought a Meritage (different neighborhood in Kingwood) and have been very happy with it. Meritage is a better builder than Brighton and Kingwood is nicer than League City imo so the trade off is the extra drive time. There is a Park and Ride near Kingwood town center next to the old library so that may be an option to look into.

We just recently built in RiverBend and are very happy with things so far. We had already lived in Kingwood (Kings River) and were looking for something a little bigger than what we had. I work for Methodist in the medcenter and without any traffic it is about a 35 to 40 minute drive. Typically though you can expect about an hour commute. Let me know if you have any other questions. Good Luck.
