Anyone know about how much these people make? I'm looking to start school this month and I plan to work as a PCT until I can finally become a nurse?

Approximately $7 to $10 dollars an hour depending on where you work. Less if you work in a nursing school. Coming write out of Nursing Assistant program, you will make closer to $7.

What is a Patient Care Technician? Is that someone with a certificate? A CNA?
If certified you can make around $9-10 in a nursing home/assisted living, depends what shift too.
Not sure how much hospitals pays. Agency or Hospice pays more. Private sitter probably has the best cut, but most likely no insurance.

Patient care technician is the terminolgy currently being used for nursing assistants (may or may not be certified). I quoted the low ball park of $7 (should have been $8 since minimum wage is $7.25) because the poster has no experience and will be graduating from a CNA type school. $9 to $10 dollars is what hospital probably pay.

Yes, that sounds about right. Not certified is just a minimum wage...
I think that not certified can do better as a private sitter.
OP didn't said if she is certified or not, she might be CNA and going to school for LVN...

PCT = nursing home worker

It only takes a few months schooling to become a "certified" PCT & the low end pay reflects that...as someone else stated around $8-$10 an hour max.
