Its a well known fact AIDS is more prevalent in that part of the world than in Mexico.

Care to donate monetarily, or better yet adopt one of those children?

This is a humanitarian effort, meaning we're going to need world wide support on this one. So far we have had none. Our own military is being criticized for dropping loads & loads of food from cargo planes to these people.

But we know how not to contract AIDS. Its not like one catches AIDS by taking someone's sneeze or something.

Of course the same comments would be made. Yes, we need to help the Haitian people, and we need to have compassion. With that said, we still have to worry about the people in OUR country too. Sometimes doing the right thing, isn't doing the right thing. I think we need to get those orphans out of there(those who were already up for adoption) and we need to help the rest of the citizens rebuild. Bringing ALL of them to ONE U.S. city isn't going to help. If MANY cities can take in a few hundred/thousand, then it might work out without effecting that city's well being.
