I'm sure the owner of the building (Brookfield?) they lease made them an offer they couldn't refuse. There is a lot of competition in the downtown market right now, and KBR would have been foolish to move.

Exxon also decided to keep their downtown operations after all instead of moving them to the new campus in Spring.

So yeah, so much for downtowns being dead and obsolete.

Is this true?

It seems like they just announced this land purchase in the HBJ a couple of weeks ago.

They are supposed to move employees from Virginia to the Spring Campus, but the oh-so-1960s skyscraper on Bell will remain home to Exxon. Before there was speculation they would abandon/sell it.

Oh....ok.

Do they still intend to proceed with whatever campus in Spring they announced, in addition to current locations?
