We were curious about some county business back in1976. Some like minded people got together and spent a couple of weeks going through the micro film down at the courthouse just to find out who owned what. Thank goodness there were some lawyers who could help out at their lunch hour. The powers that be have all sorts of corporations holding land for development for 20 years. Bet they owned the GP land before the Beltway was engineered. I knew so much about a county commissioner's holdings that his wife's divorce lawyer called me to find out what he owned.

Too bad though if that isn't the area of town someone wants to live in.

I hear you, but at least Exxon is incorporating their location with a master planned community.

Oh well. Happens all the time when companies setup shop in different parts of the city. People have to move or find another company.

Oh I know - I just like to see these huge corps stay central so that big companies make it easy for their employees regardless of what side of town they choose to live in. Gives people more of a choice - quality of life thing.

The employees who commute there will be fine. Just like everyone else they will get used to the drive.

Yeah, I can see that. With The Grand Parkway construction though, people can live anywhere from Cypress over to Kingwood, on North.

Not everyone "gets used" to the drive. and the reduction of family and personal time. Not everyone has the personality to live in an MPC, the Fairfax people will fit in one just fine though. Also, some of the Houston workers will not only have to commute to work, but commute to functions, meetings and lunches since most people in O&G/LPG are Central or West.

Exxon is gonna do what's its gonna do. It's good for the Houston economy I'll give you that.Hopefully this will encourage Montgomery County to extend the Hardy past Conroe. Traffic is increasing to beyond horrible that route. Imagine another hurricane with all those north freaking out again that they are in more trouble than those in Galveston....

I'm pretty sure they are keeping downtown. Getta, do you work out of Bell?

Same commute for the most part. We picked a central local to live so either way ya got a 35- 40 minute run to and from. Funny thing is is when we lived closer it took the same amount of time because of traffic.
