In all seriousness, I have a back yard full of different palms and the biggest most central one was hit hardest by the frost. Will it come back in spring after all the dead fronds are cut off?

Do they have any greenery at all? Most of the Pitted Palms and the Queens have made it. Not sure what the large, what I call "Pineapple Palms" are really called, but seem to have taken the hardest hit. Our neighbor has 6 very large ones and the his landscaper told him they were gonners.

Our large fan palm started turning visibly brown early last week but I still see a bit of green on it; our pygmy date palms look good so far. My other tropicals are questionable (hibiscus, sampaguita)...I guess we'll see in a few months!

When I trimmed my Hibiscus, it was still green. I just trimmed it very low...it needed it anyway. It's my Palmerias that really took a hit.

If it's a Queen palm and there is still some green on the trunk area, it will probably survive. I'd wait until March to trim back the dead stuff, though. Sampaguita was luckier than we were; our Pygmy palms look awful. The only palms I have that came through the freeze completely unscathed were the large Pindo palms.

Our Queen, Mediterranean (may be Chinese) fan, and all our Sago Palms all look great - maybe a tiny bit of browning.....It's the Pygmy dates that look soooooooo terrible.

Oh. Totally embarrassed...especially coming from San Diego where I had landscaping full of pygmy date palms. The palms that still look great in our yard are the sago. Our pygmy date palms look like they have been tortured & deprived of nourishment.

Wait awhile...Your Sagos, sooner or later, will be covered in a white powdery substance, that is actually a form of an aphid.
