You are absolutely wrong. Many cities in the deep south have a very significant black population. I have lived in cities in NC where the black population is 45% - 50%.

This type of racial quota question should not be tolerated whether it is about whites or blacks.

I'm still asking that the thread be closed.

Umm, where did I say that no cities in this country have significant black populations? All I said was that asking if a city has a decent size white population would be ridiculous considering the white population of this country is about twice that size of all other minority groups combined.

And no, the strip search thread was something else. I don't think it was their favorite sotre...anymore..
Did you miss the part where I said "most cities in this country"?

As for your 65% number, I think I'll go by the US census bureau who puts it at 75%.

Although I honestly don't believe A&M Bulldawg meant to be offensive in his original post, I do agree with ElectroPlumber that this question would have caused an uproar if the word "black" was exchanged for the word "white". In any event, Houston is a melting pot and there are plenty of people of every color and creed here.

People do all the time on here.
They just veil their question as 'What are the demographics like in a particular neighborhood?'
Happens on here all the time.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with the OP's question.
And to answer the OP's question, yes there is a sizable black population in Houston and even some surrounding areas.

Both Houston and Dallas (the cities) are about 25% Black. Hispanics make up a larger percentage.
Atlanta (the city) is about 60% Black.
Hope that helps...

Has nothing to do with "bigots". It has happened before.

Exactly right. Or my personal favorite, "what's a neighborhood with good schools?"
