Hey All,

We are moving to houston after graduating!!
Never been to Houston ...My husband will be working in downtown Houston and we want to live not more than 15-20 mins away from downtown.

Our Budget : upto $ 2000 rent

Please help me with communities to look for apartments...Crime rate is a concern for us!
Please suggest us some areas to hunt for apartments which are safe?

Thanks,

Check out the Heights! Great area just outside of downtown. It's like the suburbs in the city.

77007, 77008, and sometimes 77009.

I would suggest the Rice Military area (the area off of Washington b/t...what would other's say? about Wescott and Yale?). Usually the zip code is 77007. That area has apartments around there but there are also some town homes that might be for rent too.

Good luck with the move! So, where you folks coming from?
