I lived in Alief in the late 1970's to early 90's, before my family moved out to sugar land. In the early days, it was a great place. It was close to everything, but far away enough. The schools were good. Places were nice, etc.

The parts in Chinatown might come back - It's hard to say. The AISD area isn't even completely built out yet.

Yeah, I lived off of Kirkwood years ago 83 - 1987, Had some great times ,and want to move back to Texas -but it wont be Alief.

I dont think it will come back to whatever it was. The westchase business area is being built out more on the Alief side now. The chinese is building their own business park i believe. North of Alief (westside?) are upscale apartments. The best Alief would ever be is more like inner city living than suburbia, which may not be that bad.

With the way the EC is booming and Westchase is building, I think there could be some flow over. It certainly has a better shot than Sharpstown, which is both unsafe and has horrible schools.
