You know you are from Houston, when going to the Galleria Mall is an event you get dressed up for.

You know you're from Houston when you want to honk at people only going 80mph in the fast lane on I-10...

When you hate the Cowboys because you were an Oilers fan,now a Texans fan,and don't realize that Cowboys fans don't even know Houston has a pro football team.

When you understand what Don Meredith and "hook 'em unicorns!" is all about.

When your outfit for one day consists of a medium sweater, shorts, sunglasses, rain shoes/boots and an umbrella.

When you've laid, spread eagle in the middle of the wall-of-water monument

When you've ridden the little train around Herman Park.

When you've driven circles around the Mecom Fountain.

When you worry about flooding after an hour of steady rainfall.

When you view the speed limit as more of a starting point.

When you're overly critical about the spices/recipe of your BBQ sauce.

When you know that the chicken ranch had no chickens.

When you remember attending rock concerts at the Summit, and seeing Mayor Fred Hofheinz usually falling out of his limo.

You remember the first time you saw Mattress Mac on TV in the 80's, jumping up and down with a handful of cash, yelling that he was going to save you money - and your mouth fell open.

You remember when Copperfield and Champions Forest were the boonies - and Katy was a whole 'nother town.

You remember when the Galleria was ONE large building.

You remember sitting in the revolving bar (Spindletop) atop the downtown Hyatt and being able to see a 360 degree view of Houston, instead if just the janitorial crew cleaning offices.

When you think Houston is the only city with strip clubs next to liquor stores next to churches next to neighborhoods next to car dealerships because Houston is the only American city without zoning.

When you think zoning/HOAs prevent property values from declining, because you know they've never declined in any American city with zoning or a subdivision with an HOA.

When you think zoning can prevent bad areas from developing, because you know that cities that have had zoning for more than half a century don't have bad areas.

When you remember the pony's name at Kiddie Wonderland -- Old Bill.

When your favorite Chinese food is to this day Lee's Den, down the street.

When you remember the orange light by the digital clock that was lit on even minutes at Foamer night in the Dome , and if a homerun was hit with the light on, everyone got free beer for the rest of the inning. Or was it the rest of the game?
