Anyone here ever get a Good APT in Houston with a Felony? Last time I was in Houston I tried several Apt complexes and they all did background checks hence I couldn't rent from them due to my Felony. That's one thing I hate about Houston - it's hard for a Felon to rent a good APT. So many APT complexes do background checks. So where is a Felon to live?

Do you know of any good APT complexes a felon can live in? I might need one near Galleria, Sugarland, or Medical Center if I get a job with Schlumberger in Sugarland.

it also depends on what type of felony you have on your record....if it's an assault or something aggressive, chances are no complex will let you rent there...... if it's a non aggressive felony, like theft or something....then it's a possibility you can rent...also depending on how long ago, deferred adjudication, community service completed?, etc. etc.

My felony was punching a Sr Citizen once. Happened 8 years ago and I have a clean record ever since. I'm working on getting a Governor's Pardon now.

I think the address is 61 Reisner. It's inside the loop, near downtown

you're prolly better off renting a house, than an apt. did you get deferred adj. ? probation?

I can't afford to rent a house when Schlumberger will pay me $20/hr. I don't want to share an APT because I did that the last 22 months I lived in Houston and I had roommates steal from me.

My 30 month probation ended years ago.

Houses are more difficult to get into with a felony than an apartment.

house rent will prolly be just as much as a "good apt complex" rent, if not LESS. "good apts" go for over $1000-$1200 easily.

i would print out your case and that you finished probation in good standing and such....and they may make a judgement call, GRANTED, that your credit is good and can afford the apt.....
