As to turning down a job because it was in the EC..not anyone's loss. EE, I normally like your posts, but you've lost your mind on this one. A 60 year-old area is not an MPC. "Instead of housing??" My house was a custom build in 1957, along with about 1000 others.
The EC is 60 years old???? Im talking about the Energy Corridor.. I have no idea what EC your referring to. Nothing over there looks 60 years old...heck nothing over there looks older that 5-10 years.

Im talking about all the large grand office buildings they have decided to build there. I think its just a cheap way for companies to show off a shiny new building with their company logo slapped on it. What I meant by MPC instead of housing... is that there is a large development company dictating how everything is going to look, even down to the landscape.

My objection is that there should have been more effort to develop downtown and since Houston has a growing job market the new offices should have been in downtown to revitalize the area. But, of course companies are more worried about how to lower costs and could care less about the city.

Yes, the area is 60-years old.. The homes built in 1949-2010 and the mid-rises started in the 1970's.

There's no master plan anywhere, offices included..and thank goodness for that. In fact, rent is equal to downtown. Downtown in many cases is cheaper...

As to sticking a shiney logo on building...have you not driven around downtown?
