Check Costco(not sure if they sell sofas anymore?) or IKEA if you want cheap.

I think Ashley fits what you are looking for. Very nice looking stuff, probably not top quality, but probably a good value. IKEA used to just be cheap, modern looking stuff, but they have been making more traditional looking furniture lately, and some of their pricing is getting out of hand because of it.

We just bought a dinette set and queen size bedroom set from Katy Wholesale Furniture (near the Home Depot and Walmart off Fry Road). I think the dinette set was $299 and the bedroom set was $799. We've been happy with the quality, but we have no kids, so they won't see alot of wear and tear.

Actually, I think the name of the place is Katy Furniture & Mattress. I just googled it. It's in a warehouse on Price Plaza Dr.

Don't forget the gently used route! I have bought a couple of higher-end pieces from people on Craigslist who were selling "just because," and for very good prices. Also consignment shops are full of great finds. There is one in Spring named Stillgoode I like for more vintage pieces (StillGoode - Home), though there are probably many others out there I don't know about.

I also visited Katy Wholesale Furniture, they have a nice small warehouse that has items on display. However, one thing that I did not like is that their signs for the furniture would say leather, when in fact it is leather bicast (not the same thing - bicast requires more maintenance). Also, the prices are cash prices, so they tell you add 5% if paying with cc. They advertise a lot on craigslist too.

I found a place that sells furniture wholesale ( I think they are discontinued models or something), but new, with tags and warranty, at 8622 Eastex Freeway. They were pretty affordable for me, I got a 3 piece leather blend ashley set for 1200 out the door( with tax and delivery). Comfy set. The don't have prices posted on furniture, so have a price range in mind beforehand on the specific items you need. Delivery was the seal on the deal for me because I have a sedan.
