I I know I've asked this, but I didn't a REAL answer. Did Houston's black population pass the 1 million mark for sure?

Lol, there's only 2.24 million people in city proper, so I highly doubt it.

I wouldn't be surprised, but if it hasn't passed 1 million yet than it is extremely close.

Youre looking at all whites, even the hispanic ones. By that measurement, Metro Houston is at 65% white.

DFW's non-hispanic white population was 52% at 2008. By 2011, it will be less than 50%.

I was going to say this. I believe Houston is at around 42% right now for its non-Hispanic white population. Correct me if I'm wrong here. It'll be below 40% by 2011.

Metro Houston's might actually even out because right now they are getting more domestic in-migration (which includes non-hispanic whites) than DFW. Im betting, it will even out at around 40%. But I dont know that for sure. LA has done that the last few years. DFW and Houston seem to be following LA's demographic patterns. Houston is about 7-10 years behind, DFW seems to be 12-15 years behind.

Since Houston is already at 42% (IIRC), then I think it's safe to say it'll drop below 40%, but not too far. Won't get to the mid-30s, if the domestic in-migration continues to increase (which it seems more likely that it will).

So Houston's Hispanic and Asian population percentage will increase while the black and the white population percentage will decrease?
