I have a high school friend that lives there. That has to be a tough situation but that location is prime.

finally!!!!! This is a huge block AT (not near, right at) a metro rail stop and it has stayed empty for 8 years after the rail opened. It was such a disappointment and it leaves Midtown disjointed. The flow along the red line should look a lot more uniform now with the Apt buildings and greenspace.

This is the heart of the Red Line. It is where the Old Vietnamese town was. Would be nice to get some of the old Vietnamese businesses back.
This is also walking distance from Montrose. Must be nice to live halfway between Downtown and TMC, and near the great restaurants in Montrose and the nightlife on Washington Ave.

The plot is adjacent to the HCC admin building and the campus is just a few blocks away. It is a perfect location for TOD, so it was sad that it is taking so long.

Another location that has promise is the Fannin South station. Along with Smith Lands it mainly serves as a transition spot from a car to the rail. I am shocked at how busy Smith Lands station gets when there is not really anything there.

I really hope the Development along the other lines don't take as long.

Did Ya'll see this? Apartment tower to soar 40 stories | Prime Property | a Chron.com blog

Quote:
Houston is getting another very tall tower.

This rendering is an image of 2929 Weslayan, a new apartment building that just broke ground at the northeast corner of Weslayan and West Alabama.

At 40 stories, the building will be one of the tallest residential buildings around and perhaps the tallest rental tower in the city. The project was 35 stories when it was announced last year.
