The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center's plans for expansion into west Houston's Energy Corridor is just one of several medical institutions that have entered or will enter the area. Earlier, the 6-story, 478,500 square foot Methodist West Houston Hospital, seen here under construction in 2010, opened near Greenhouse north of I-10.

I think the problem with downtown Macys is it has become arrogrant it is the only big game downtown therefore it needs to do nothing to atrract people...I am hoping that midway is not just talking hype and really are working on big things for the pavillion , maybe if macys gets a challage to it status as downtown main retail store , it will light a fire under there ass

I nominate that old Macy's as the ugliest building in the history of the US. Houston should declare it a national landmark. Japanese tourists should come and take pictures of it. I can't believe people shop there.

Why is it hard to believe people shop there?!? Lots of people work downtown and have lunch hours to burn. That store has bailed me out many times. Don't have a gift for the baby shower after work? Just run over to Macy's during lunch. Break a heal off stepping in a sidewalk crack? Limp over to Macy's and buy a new pair.

This made me laugh pretty hard! I like the Macy's because it's the only department store downtown, but would have LOVED this new building!
