Long time coming: Metro opens work on the Southeast Line | Chronicle | Chron.com - Houston Chronicle

Common sense might have the metro rail go to the airports.

Thanks for sharing, Oildog. Now, Houston won't have to get bashed by Atlantans and "Dallasites???" for having the lowest ridership of the three.

We don't really care what Atlantans or Dallas folk say. We like our city.

actually Houston's ridership per mile is the second highest in the country after Boston.

And Dallas and ATL has nothing to brag about.
Dallas has to absorb a whole other metropolitan area into it to get a few 100K more people than Houston but Houston still spanks Dallas's butt in GDP, personal income, buildings, museums, arts districts, visitors, density, hospitals, universities, Houston is clearly the biggest and best city in the entire south, don't know why people would put Dallas, ATL or Miami on Houston's level.

It's actually a bit of both. It will catch DART in ridership. It will not catch MARTA in ridership, though. It could catch MARTA in miles, it won't catch DART in miles. Even with the University and Uptown line, it won't catch MARTA in ridership and DART in miles.

I guess HtownLove got it wrong about it having more ridership than MARTA and DART.

Nope, Houston's ridership per mile is higher than DART or MARTA's, and Houston's Daily Ridership totals are already higher than DARTS

Metro 278K per day
DART 228K per day
