I created a thread similar to this one in the Dallas forum, but it, however, failed. As we all know, Houston grew at an outstanding rate when compared to its peer metro areas. So, I thought that I would create a thread highlighting new growth and developments (subdividsions, real estate, retail, et.) in the area to see where ALL of this growth is occurring and what type of infrastructure and developments are and will accomodate and satisfy the newcomers. As a result, if you guys have any news of such developments, feel free to post info here. By the way, I've just fallen love with Houston and its people from this website; y'all are extremely helpful and kind. I would love to choose Houston as a relocation city in the near future.

I live on East End just on the other side of 59 from downtown and there has been new housing development shooting up over there. Some of which is sold before there's even a ground breaking. They're also expanding light rail over there so that's underway. Give it some time....East End will be the next Washington Ave./Midtown

I think Atascocita had the highest % growth for last year at lease. Tons of new development in that area.

I haven't noticed any activity at the site yet, at least not visible from 59.

The whole area between east 610, 45, 59 and 10 has huge potential. They already have some great elementary schools over there. It also has great proximity to everything. Hop down Harrisburg, you are downtown in minutes. Wayside takes you to UH and the Med Center/Museum district rather quickly. The Galleria is a quick drive also. Add the light rail and you will wind up with a neighborhood that will gentrify extremely fast.

I've seen Houston's freeways on youtube, and I must say that I-10 west is so amazing! That's real good thinking for the rapid growth you guys say is occuring the west. Also, I didn't know the Katy area is so big and is growing at a fast pace.
