CyFair and Katy school districts are good and in or near the area mentioned. Go to HAR.com and check out houses in those school districts.

Visit Houston TranStar Real-Time Traffic Map during the times you think you'll be driving to work. Do this for about a week and you should have an idea of the busiest highways we have.

The two areas I mentioned are your best commute and still have good school districts. Jones Rd@290 is in the CyFair school district, can't get any better than that. Katy is a little further with multiple ways of getting to the area you mentioned. Little longer commute but not as bad as having to head downtown.

she was given a choice and she is fine with moving.....we lived in Houston until 10 yrs ago and she has been wanting to move back...she can either stay with her grandparents where we currently live or switch....she chose to switch as she has completed most of her requirements and is taking mostly college classes now anyway

Have you tried looking in the Jersey Village area? I know there are some nice homes off of West Rd. too. Commute wise I think this would be the best. There's always Cypress too. Hope all goes well. Welcome home!

Thanks for everyone's responses...we have decided that Cypress would be the best for our family/commutes/etc. Any neighborhood recommendations? As stated earlier we will be renting for the first year and after that will be in the price range of $300-500 when we purchase. Any insight would be helpful. Thanks! So glad to be coming home in June!!

We really liked Coles Crossing. It's a very nice area in the Cy-Fair district. I would have loved to have lived there, but DH didn't want to deal with the commute to his office down off I-10 and Hwy 6. We also did our last move with our kids in high school, a sophomore and a junior. Our oldest was excited about, but found the transition harder than he expected. Good luck to your daughter and your entire family.
