No Almeda mall? Gee I wonder why...

I can't stand malls in general, but that mall being dead is actually a positive for me as long as there is a store I need something at. All the closed down car dealerships, stores, and boarded up apartments = light traffic. I'm about 10 minutes from both Baybrook and Almeda, and would prefer not to deal with getting trapped anywhere near Baybrook.

That IS the point which you seem to have missed (so in fact you're agreeing with what I said).

People seem to think Mercedes itself is an aspirational brand, particularly here in the US where I guess people don't know any better.

The bint in question on this thread would have been as well saying 'I hopped in Daddy's F150' as his Merc.

OK, I can understand wanting Houston to be more walkable and entertaining and stuff like NYC, but has it come to this? People saying Houston sucks because we aren't a fashion capital? Seriously?

SERIOUSLY?

Tip: get a life and then you won't judge a city based on the amount of luxury brand stores in it. at least say Houston sucks for its weather or sprawl or SOMETHING to not make yourself look like a complete idiot.

I like the galleria. Then again, I haven't been to any other mall in Houston

NYC is a little passe these days don't you think as far as fashion goes? Might explain why you're buying Burberry which incidentally is still the preserve of 'chavs' in terms of it's fashion lines despite their attemps to rebrand it.

Don't you just hate these parochial NYC city dwellers who think the sun shines out of Manhattan's backside? Think more transatlantic sweetie.
Yep. That's what I was thinking...with a couple of thousand dollars (if that), anyone can own a Mercedes resale. Maybach? That's another story.

I smell a spoiled child dressed up as a troll.

I don't have a favorite mall. I usually just go to the mall when other people(girlfriends) want to go. Otherwise I would never go to one, haha. I would rather just go to a store that isn't in a mall than to go to one that is in one. It does get very crowded, not that I hate crowds.

And I don't understand the obsession with the upscale department stores. Actually I don't get the obsession with spending you money on ridiculous things. And being so much into fashion is something else I don't get. But to be honest I don't really care to find out, haha. Houston does not need another mall by the way.

p.s. I've noticed more and more that I am becoming less and less of a U.S. consumer. Because most things you honestly don't need.

not sure what is wrong with a 'spoiled child' posting in a "favorite mall thread". you guys go to malls to shop, right? not taking the kids there to 'just hangout', take advantage of the free AC or checking out items you'd 'research' on ebay. right?

I like Memorial City Mall.

The downside is the apartment crowd North of I-10. They seem to enjoy the free air conditioning in the summers & love hang out all day in the childrens play area. Believe me, they are NOT mall customers.

I vote that you have show a store receipt, time stamped within the last 90 minutes to use the mall common areas. :-) But all malls have this problem I guess.

There is no other mall, other than the Galleria, in Houston worth going to.

And as far as you "snobs" who don't think the shopping is good enough for your superficial pretentious selves, you can always MOVE AWAY!!!! Bye Bye!
