28,000 jobs is a lot for a three month interval. If this trend continues, then Houston would have added 112,000 jobs. Lord have mercy, I would love to see how many people moved to Houston during this year after seeing how many jobs Houston could add.

Ah! but the 60K jobs about to be lost due to the ban on oil drilling will shut things down a bit.

Houston area lost 118,000 jobs in 2009, so 112,000 would be great, a really fast recovery !

I didn't know about the job loses. It's still amazing how Houston can add so many people with so many job loses.

Because the unemployment rate is lower than national average, and much lower compared to Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Detroit.
Houston is a ray of hope in this tough economy.

Are they dismantling NASA Mission Control altogether or just cutting jobs for it in Houston?

No it won't oil drilling is just seeing a temporary suspension, it's not gone forever. Oil drilling is essential to America, they are not going to keep a permanent ban on it. Just until they get this situation fixed.
