Sounds like The Woodlands has a fair amount of entertainment also. It's kind of "un-American like" to have a suburb that's about 30 minutes from downtown that has a nice little urban skyline, has a nice upscale mall, has entertainment, and has suburbs of its own, but yet, still seems to be quiet and gentle. Ladies and gentlemen, I think The Woodlands is Houston's greatest suburb.

Sounds sorta like Naperville. Not sure if that's un American-like. Upscale suburban satellite city-like, yes. Nothing wrong with it. Those who keep on with their ''poop on the Woodlands'' tirades have other underlying issues of their own.

BTW I think it's closer to 45 minutes from downtown Houston, and that's off peak. Doesn't matter; commute times most people are undertaking aren't that bad over there. Modal time = 20 minutes one way. Your own fault if you work in the heart of Houston and decide to live there.

I prefer Clear lake, Katy, and Missouri City [Sienna Plantation]. The Woodlands is a really attractive area (it's not all that great as it seems though) but if I moved to north Houston. I'd go for the Conroe Area.

I hear that Katy is flat and sprawly.

Other than some 3% grades in Indian Springs, the Woodlands is flat as a pancake.

All the major MPCs are equal. Just add or remove pine trees.

The majority of the Woodlands is flat too. The terrain gets pretty hill once you get above it though. Like Conroe. Anyways, they all sprawl.

I wish the hills extended just a little further south. There are a couple of small slopes and things from 1960 up, but the actual hills don't start until after The Woodlands.
