Give it time although they will probably do Dallas first.

He was talking about nightlife districts although I am sure the universities do help provide for the strip scene, if the strippers say they are only stripping to pay for college.

The only reason I see Dallas getting it first is because I can see an endless supply of rich, obnoxious women in the North Dallas suburbs for casting purposes.

University of St. Thomas caters to lower Westheimer scene and Rice University caters to Rice Village (surprisingly ).

What bugs me is there was not ONE mention of Houston's really terrific music scene. None at all. This past weekend I heard 11 really talented bands, all uniquely Houston. Where was that?

Being very, very, very new to Houston... And really not knowing much at all about this behemoth of a city (population larger than the entire state of MN- growing up I always though the Twin Cities were huge). That article was great. Gives us a few new places to check out..

University of Houston, by far the large college in Houston, is in a not so great location and has long been more of a "commuter school" and not a very lively campus, although that is changing FAST. On the other hand, Rice and St. Thomas are in a much better location but both schools have a very small population (under 5,000 students each I believe). Of course, with the new LT lines that will connect UofH to other schools inside the Loop, we might see a lot of neighborhoods and business districts popping up in the near future that cater to the college community in Houston.

Edit: Haha! i miss interpreted your comment. I wasn't referring to strip bars but the general college night life. I'm not really a strip bar kind of guy so I have no idea about that.
