Recycling bins with embedded RFID chips. Did you noticed that Houston's recycling green bins have this chip installed??
Several U.S. States are using recycling bins with embedded RFID chips. Bins are scanned and weighed right at the curb. An RFID enabled system, tallies credits for households that are above average for recycling. The system then issues "recycle dollars" that can be used at participating businesses for discounts.

Back in NJ we did not use any electronic chips but the garbage men dig through your trash and if you have any recyclables in your regular trash you get an orange sticker on your can and you are fined.

For those of you who insist on more and more government and wanting your govt to control you more and more..........where do you draw the line?

We have no recycling bins here. However the COH recycle yard is 5 mins down the road and takes more types of trash vs curbside. No big brother to worry about here.

Honestly - I could care less if "big brother" is watching me - I'm not doing anything in public that would interest anyone and I'm not doing anything to worry about big brother either.

When I was in London, I felt a bit safe with the CCTV everywhere (and signs indicating it was there) - so it didn't bother me in the least. You gotta admit when they have something major happens there - they usually find the guilty parties fairly fast in that everything is pretty much on tape somewhere.

Because really, who cares if you are mugged, raped or blown up in the subway by jihadis. As long as it is caught on tape we're safe!

Switch out with your neighbor to screw them up, lol. Seriously though, this is over the top. Sorry, I just wouldn't recycle.

??? It's not like that is an everyday occurrence over there. Their attacks on their city haven't really been more than here. They have a lot of "thwarted" plans as does the U.S. And they caught the perpetrators pretty darn fast as compared to crimes here. Faster than us.

And the petty crime that occurs day to day is much lower - I think knowing how fast they get caught deters much of that - murder, robbery, rape. Of course I would imagine that as times change - that increases due to a different generation of people who really just don't give a x#0% if they are caught.
