Well, I think Houston is going to become blacker and blacker, making the metro more diverse! The Asian population is booming. Houston is destined for success and more diversity! I know in my heart that Houston will become the next black mecca!

Well they kinda already are Black Meccas. People fail to understad the East Coast has just always had a larger black population. Black slaves were brought in from there and were put on plantations all over the East and southern areas; eventually slavery moved west and that's how Black communities started forming within Texas. That's why the eastern parts of Texas have lots of historical black communties.

Mathematically if the percentage of the African American population for the metropolitan area is 17.1% and it's not declining but staying constant with that percentage then my range would be about: 23,940

That's an estimate from my math for yearly increases in the African American/Black population.

23,940/140,000 is a good amount.

That's an okay amount. I've seen a study where it says that Hispanics will leave places like TX, CA, AZ, NM, etc. to other places within the nation. So I wonder if this happens to Houston, I wonder which race will take the lead of Houston's growth.

I don't imagine Hispanics leaving Texas or Houston, they will stay the dominant group and will continue their growth.I think many hispanics will leave California and AZ for Texas (Economic probs in Cali, immigration law in AZ).You dream a little bit ^^"

Actually, I don't dream too much. I just wonder and sometimes, I misinterpret things. So it doesn't hurt to ask for correction!

For people from Louisiana it's Houston.

For people from Oklahoma, it's Dallas

For people in Arkansas, it's Dallas.

For people in Mississippi or Alabama, it's Houston.

But that's not always the case either, I see a lot of people in Houston who are from Tulsa.
