I shop at that same Publix when I'm in St Pete. I really like that store and the way it fits downtown.

It would be a great location for a grocery store like that. I'll temper my expectations though until something more concrete is announced. Of course, I'd be happy with a Capital Market type development in that building as well.

Heard from a good source today that Peace, Love and Little Donuts was going to be in the new development on 3rd Ave along with Charlie Granger's and Route 55. I hadn't heard that up to this point and couldn't find anything concrete but if true, more good news for that development.

Gotta be honest. I was hoping for maybe a nice deli and local type stuff like the Capital Market.

Per the source, this isn't in the Market building. All three businesses are supposedly going in the building where Bazaar was. The Market is supposed to have more local stuff.

Good news. I got super jealous when I visited Louisville earlier this week. Daggone it we need to keep seeing this downtown area grow, especially with local places.

This is off topic but if Marshall ever decides they need a new basketball arena, they should get rid of the Big Sandy arena and partner with Huntington for about a 12,000 seat arena...a miniature version of the Yum Center in Louisville. Something like that that could remain busy throughout the year would do wonders for downtown.

A shared arena between the City and MU was the original plan before the Henderson Center and Big Sandy Arena were built. The two sides couldn't agree on where to build the arena, the city wanted it downtown and MU wanted it on campus. So they decided to build their own.

Another new restaurant to open on 4th near Marshall: https://www.facebook.com/events/1761472460797311/

Not many details out there about it, but it's yet another local option in town.

This is that old bar beside D.P. Dough. That's a good spot.
