"its requirements could rule out some places: It wants to be near a metropolitan area with more than a million people; be able to attract top technical talent; be within 45 minutes of an international airport; have direct access to mass transit"
Sounds like they are looking for a Pittsburgh, Memphis, Insert some Texas city here.
Yeah in my research Huntington was refereed to as one of the few large cities classed as something like a rural mail zone because it is stuck between the river and the mountains and not on a major national highway dedicated to heavy trucks. Charts said add an extra day for shipping to or from Huntington.
So excited about the Greek restaurant! It looks like Austin's is opening a second location at The Market as well! I've also heard Butter it Up is moving in too. That's going to be a really nice space there. Looking forward to this!
Butter It Up would be great there. Wonder if that means they are moving or just opening a space there too. I'm gonna guess that they are moving. Not a lot of foot traffic most of the time at Heritage Station. That said, if anything good ever goes into the Mack & Daves Building, leaving Heritage Station could also be a mistake. If it wasn't for that daggone power station between Pullman & Heritage Station that entire area would feel a lot more cohesive.
"West Virginia's first crop aggregation facility, opened in Huntington's West End in June of 2016, has been deemed a waste of taxpayers' money and is being brought to an end."
Not really a surprise since the new Ag commissioner stated he would close it as soon as he took office. He claimed it wasn't successful but even the article stated that it was never given the chance to really get up and running. The Ag Commissioner deemed it a taxpayer waste but then gave the brand new equipment away. Lots of hypocrisy listed in that article. It seems that he had a vendetta against that facility from the get go.
