There’s been one by the Huntington Mall for 25+ years. It’s just taken them this long to add a second location.
Speaking of the Huntington Mall, looks like they finally got a video board at the entrance signage. I've been saying they needed this for 20 years. I would figure something like that would pay for itself in advertising.
Hopefully the Huntington Mall logo is next to get a makeover.
If the Huntington Mall ever goes out (which it probably will at some point) I think that property would be a great spot for a legit well run Amusement/Water Park.

I saw the new video board today. It certainly looks a lot better than what was there, but I thought the screen size was going to be bigger. I can only think that maybe the support posts can't handle a larger board. Either way, it's an upgrade.

On 5th Avenue, site work has begun on the old Burger King property. I believe this property is owned by Interstate, the folks who own Tanyard Station. Hopefully this property has more success.
Also on 5th Avenue, the old Pizza Hut and Plasma donation building, next to HPT, has been demolished. The sign on the property states a new bank is planned for the site.
I'm not sure if this is business related but on the SE corner of Collis Avenue and 28th street, in the Highlawn neighborhood, a few of the older brick two-story apartment buildings have been demolished. When I drove by there today, construction on a new building has begun. The crews there today appeared to be doing some foundation work. I haven't heard any news about this project, so I'm not sure if it's business related or new housing.
Hopefully we’ll hear more details about the former Burger King site soon. My theory is that the developer did this project as a test to create connections into possibly being the developer for the ACF site. I’m sure any development there will hinge on the baseball field though.
Can’t say I’m too excited about the bank but boy will that section of 5th Ave look so much better once that building goes in. That are has completely changed for the better in the last 10 years with Chipotle, Sheetz, Cookout, new development at Burger King and now this building. Once the baseball field goes in, it’ll be huge.
A Lot of Building going on in the Huntington/Barboursville area...
1. So a Bank is going in where the old Pizza Hut was by Marshall Football Stadium? Any idea on who could move into the development across from it (where Burger King was...probably way too early yet)?
2. Anyone know what is going in front of Christopher's Eats? Much new building there and it looks like the plaza where Little Caesar's used to be and where Herd Tactical is is getting a facelift.
3. Further down 60...what is the building between the old Hardies and where the Little Caesar's above moved to? There is a new building going up between the new development where the Church was and the old Hardee's.
4. Now all the way to the Mall...looks like the old Sho Gun building is going to be...an Indian Motorcycle dealership? Restaurant? Anyone know what that is about.
I haven’t heard any specifics about the old Burger King site. Seems like a perfect place for a Panda Express or Starbucks with a drive they though.
Not sure about any of the other new buildings yet either. I have heard that a Capitol Waffle shop is going in somewhere (hopefully downtown). Work is also progressing on the building on 4th Ave and 8th Street so I’m sure we’ll hear what’s going in there soon.
