I hadn't heard anything about auctioning lots off. I think this is the much better way to control the development.

Exactly. I'd hate to see someone buy it, keep it a parking lot and jack the prices up. Not much good would come if that.

HMDA has announced that proposals for the development of the parking lot at the corner of 4th Ave. and 8th St. is due by 4:30PM on June 15th. It's nice to see that they appear to be moving fairly quickly with this process. I hope that we will see a plan released to the public from the winning proposal to give us something to get behind and excited about!

I've heard they've had some good proposals. Let's hope we see something good out of this.

tbailey, have you heard anything about the proposals or that they were just "good?" Any chance of an addition to the skyline?

I haven't heard anything specific, just the general statement from someone who had spoken with someone at HMDA. I pressed for more details but they didn't have any. With the deadline passed, hopefully we'll hear more soon.
