Marshall University student Maria "Ellie" White has been named one of 396 college students to receive a prestigious Goldwater Scholarship.

She is the only student in West Virginia to win the award this year. Looks like quite an accomplishment for this lady. She's already in the Honors College and has done research at Green Bank. I suspect we'll see her name again in the future.

For some unknown reason, I seem to be getting the news about Marshall. I'd never given any thought to the cost of a post-graduate degree. However, it looks like a lot of people do.

"Marshall University’s Doctor of Education degree in Leadership Studies has been named among the 2020 most affordable online doctorates in education by the website OnlineU.org."

Need something to keep your kids entertained while you're stuck at home?

Download the Marshall coloring book and make sure you have an adequate supply of green crayons.

In light of reduced revenue and expected reduced enrollment in the fall, the first step being taken by President Gilbert is to reduce his own salary. That's leadership by example.

Marshall University's School of Pharmacy has gotten some great recognition.

The pharmacy school earned top ten status in a new college ranking system grouped by major and degree level that weighs earning potential, tuition and debt. GradReports.com, which used U.S. Department of Education data published in 2019, ranked Marshall’s School of Pharmacy the sixth best pharmacy school overall and for median salary ($122,000), 13th for median tuition ($19,522) and eighth for median debt ($86,145). "We are extremely proud of our pharmacy program at Marshall University," said Dr. Gayle Brazeau, dean of the school of pharmacy. "We offer hands-on learning in a cutting-edge facility with the lowest pharmacy school tuition in West Virginia."

This article provide a lot of detail about the aviation program at Marshall. How it came to be. Who's been involved. What the qualifications are. How Tri-State airport is involved. Basically, all the stuff people were curious about, in an article that is not behind a pay wall.
