Hi All,

Quick question here. We moved to Huntington WV two years ago and quickly realized that kids around here have limited extracurricular choices. Do you think parents will enroll their kids in KUMON (https://www.kumon.com/)? Please explain your answer in the comments section.

Please consider this before answering: KUMON accepts kids from preschool to highschool. KUMON trains kids in two subjects (Reading and Math). The average cost per subject (per month) is $120 depending on the area. The students attend a 30 minutes class (in person or virtual) per subject twice a week. Besides the class time, students (with parents' help) are expected to do homework.

Please be honest! Thanks for your feedback!

Sounds intriguing. I’ll have to do some research on it.

When my kids were younger I would have loved to have had this or something like it. Coming from NOVA at the time there were bountiful options for learning places for kids. Mathnasium is one place that comes to mind. There never really has been anything like that here. Not sure how much of the population would see the need for it or support it or could afford it.

You can try it. Learning different materials from different resources can be good to students because you need to find the most efficient way for your kid in their academy. I help my son to get a worksheet from Beestar that covers lots of subjects, and I think it is a comprehensive tutoring for my son. Kumon is also a good learning platform.
