We all know that Huntsville has been growing like crazy. Although GOOD growth doesn't last always, has Huntsville's growth slowed, fastened, steadied, or stayed at the same rate? Also, is Huntsville's growth going to end soon or is it still going grow rapidly and/or healthy?

In what time frame? The last year? The last five years?

In the last year, little or no growth.
Last five years to ten years, probably quite a bit.

I just guesstimating based on new homes built, new roads, new businesses and malls, and new employment centers.

In the last year, you haven't seen any growth?

Almost seems like the opposite with businesses closing in some places. The killer recession.

It's all relative. The rest of the country has the flu but Huntsville just has the sniffles.

NASA and related contractor cutbacks will not help.

Huntsville is growing; but like Charles said, it's been a decade of growth. We were a small metro ten years ago, and are still a small metro. We'll be a small metro in ten years, too. The net effect adds up over time, but it takes a long time.

Check this out:
Map: Where Americans Are Moving - Forbes.com#

Click on Travis County (Austin, TX); Mecklenburg County (Charlotte, NC); Wake County (Raleigh, NC) and check out the explosive growth (and the numbers).

Everything in perspective, man. We're healthy. We're growing. But, we are NOT a juggernaut. We have slow, sustained growth. We're a small metro. We'll almost inarguably be bigger in ten years, but we'll still be a small metro. Austin, Raleigh, Charlotte,..those are juggernauts. Medium to large metros with explosive growth.
