Any new industries that would be hiring engineers that are not of the scientific type such as tool design engineers or mechanical/project/process engineers???

I overheard someone talking about it in the Decatur's (tiny) Target the other day. He was a former Delphi employee now working somewhere else. He was telling his friends about the plant coming to the old Delphi location, which was......and then he lowered his voice and I couldn't hear what he said!!

I would suggest checking Decatur's industries...3M, Daikin America, Solutia, Meow Mix, etc. Chemicals, carbon fiber and cat food are not as glamorous as rockets, but it would pay the bills.

OTOH, I have a rocket scientist friend here who got word yesterday that he's being laid off, after 12.5 years with the company.

Trust me, it's hard enough not saying anything as it is. You guys make it harder! Best I can do for this week:

It's not any of the three previous industries I've already ruled out, BUT it is integrated in some form or fashion with all three of them. I will neither confirm nor deny any guesses

There's an obvious answer, and a not-so-obvious answer. The not-so-obvious is the correct one.
