Most of the physicians right now are "over the mountain" i.e. in town, but they are building a new medical complex.

It's difficult to find a pediatrician accepting new patients.

For Dentist, I'd recommend Dr. Pope who is very local to Hampton Cove, and quite good. The practice is family dentistry, not pediatric dentistry, but both Dr. Popes (husband and wife) have a background working at a pediatric dentist office and are quite good with kids. They don't have a playground in their office like some of these pediatric dentists do, but I've never felt it necessary as long as you have an office whose staff is good with kids. And, Dr. Pope has never left me in the waiting room for more than about two minutes, so who *cares* what's in the waiting room with that kind of adept scheduling.

I also think it's handy that they can see the whole family and schedule our appointments together if we choose. Their office manager is super nice and helpful. Dr. Jonathan Pope filled a cavity of mine and it was the most no-fuss dental work I'd ever had done. You can tell he is passionate about his work and that day I couldn't even tell I had a filling.. NO sensitivity. Not sure if it was just luck, or what, but I thought he did amazing work. I've had a few other cavities in the past and all the others I always had some sensitivity issues.

For ortho, I'd go with Dr. Jones' office, but Drs. Limbaugh and Graham are also said to be good - they have more of a dog and pony show going on if you like fancy (and pricier.) I've seen both... it was recommended to see one for an eval for my daughter.. I saw Dr. Limbaugh first and I liked her - and her office was AMAZINGLY nice, but you will PAY for it. For the next year for an eval, I saw Dr. Jones, whose office is much more modest but they gave me the same exact kind of consult in terms of examination and care, and the prices for treatment are substantially lower.

Both orthos were recommended to me by Dr. Pope, and both were honest in evaluating my daughter and informing me that she did not need any orthodontic intervention at this time, even though Dr. Pope thought she might. I've since encountered parents that go to both of these offices and both are happy with the care their child receives.

Like zennjenn said, most docs are in the medical district of Huntsville, around the hospital.

For ortho, we used Dr. Graham on Airport Rd. Very good, very satisfied with the results and our daughters liked them all very well.

Dentist, we've been very happy with Lee Segrest.

Good luck with your move.

Not everyone is happy with Dr. Pope, in fact, I know many people who are not....enough said about that.

There are several other Dentists in the are who are good. We now use Dr. William Shawn Callahan who is in Jones Valley. He is very good, has great credentials and a wonderful personality.

Alabama Pediatric Associates of Huntsville do general pediatric dentistry and also specialize in orthodontics.

Pediatric Associates of Madison might be accepting new patients for medical, they added a new pediatrician last year.
