Anyone know how/where to get rid of old TVs, speakers, and other electronics in Madison? I haven't been able to find anything about it (other than that you can't leave TVs out for trash pickup) online. If anyone knows or can point me to the appropriate agency, I'd appreciate it.

Best Buy currently accepts your old electronics. You can take up to two items per day free of charge. If you take a CRT monitor or a TV, they charge $10 for each one. But they put that $10 on a gift card for you to use. You can also take old batteries and wall chargers there too.

The city of Huntsville has a Household Hazardous Waste Program - Solid Waste Disposal Authority Household Hazardous Waste Program

I don't think you need to live in HSV to drop things off. But be aware that they only accept on the first Saturday of the month. Like this coming Saturday is the first for August.

Do they still work? If so, i would drop all that stuff off at a good-will or thrift store and ask for a tax form.

In this city, if you have a yard and leave anything even resembling functional out by the street in the morning (on any given day), it will likely be gone by the time you get home from work. I'd been procrastinating about taking a couple of CRTs out to the compute recycling place in Madison on Hwy 20 for weeks and finally just put them by the road last week. They were gone by lunch.
