Hi all, newbie here with a question about Huntsville in the 60s.
What was the name of the (now) America's Best hotel on N Mem Pky, near to Lee's Magic Tunnel? I seem to remember it was owned or run by a man named Ed Story, but the name of the hotel completely escapes me.

Hi all, one week later and I've succumb to the adage if you want something done it's best to do it yourself - so after hours spent on the net I think the name was the Tourway Inn. Please challenge me if you believe I'm wrong. Please feel free to agree if you think I'm correct.

Well, I feel free to agree with you. That seems about right, but my memory gets fuzzy. There were several motels along there and they all kind of run together in my mind...there was a Tourway Inn along in there some where, but I can't remember for sure if it's the same as America's Best.

I thought the Tourway was on the corner of Sparkman and Memorial Pkwy. Didn't it have a sign with a small boy in a revolutionalry soldier uniform.
