Looks like we are getting a Japanese restaurant in the Publix plaza on the corner of 53 and Jeff, where Tailgators use to be.

Since I don't a H'ville paper I saw an ad online but I am happy to have JoAnn's here. I use to buy a lot of yarn there. The grand opening is giving away prizes for the first 100 every day. Not that I need any more yarn.. I am sure I have more yarn than the WalMart here in Arab.

I enjoy JoAnns they have a wonderful scrapbooking section. I am glad I don't have to drive to Florence to shop there. Now, if they would build a World Market that would be great.

DavidH74: Do you know where they plan to open? We are getting a Yogurt shop in Village of Providence...wonder if that could be their new location? I never even thought to ask the owners of the development. Fingers crossed anyway! I'm from Nashville

Anyone tried the Puerto Rican restaurant yet? We used to go when it was in Athens and we really enjoyed the food - where else do you get to say "mofongo?" It's located in the strip mall behind Golden Rule.

Took my wife there for Valentine'sDay. It's a great place, service and food were just perfect. They have a nice selection of local beers on tap also.

I agree, we took my sis-in-law there for dinner. The food was of good quality and above all independent and mostly locally sourced, beers included
