There's a German who lives across the street from me, so there's at least one!

Die Duetsche Kueche

Good to know this, was not much impressed by Ol Heidelberg when we ate there. (I am a very diluted German.)

We lived in Germany for 5 years before Huntsville and Ol Heidelberg is just a schnitzel place and I would say it is not that authentic and overpriced for a piece of hammered, breaded, fried meat. We too will have to try Die Deutsche Kueche. I miss Putenschnitzel mit Kaese u. Kroketten (Turkey Schnitzel with Cheese Sauce and a mashed potato hash browns.) I would also like to find a place to get Schwabian Maultaschen.

Use store bought wonton wrappers; fill them with a mixture of finley chopped (not ground!!!) chicken, fresh breadcrumbs, parsley, cream, nutmeg, salt and pepper. Make sure you "pillows" are sealed well. Cook in boiling saltwater until they raise to the top.

It is just not the same if I have to make Maultaschen myself. We are planning a family vacation to Germany next year and have it on our itinerary. There used to be a cool restaurant (that I hope is still there) in Bad Wimpfen on the Neckar River that specialized in Maultaschen with all the toppings.

Default that sucks

Well, I know that Hildegard's is still open and a german lady runs that. There is also a store called Anastasia European Market that has a bunch of things that one could purchase.

I don't care; I love Ol' Heidelberg.
To me, food always tastes better when somebody else prepares it!!
