Hello every one. My name is Ray Flores and will be moving to Huntsville sometime next year. Need to know the best places to live and of course I am worried about the race factor in the area. I am Hispanic, Filipino and Apache mix. I identify more with Latino side of my heritage. Any advice you can can give me will be much appreciated

I can't imagine and have never heard of Hispanic people having issues in the Huntsville area because of their heritage. You should be fine.

Your post would be very funny if you post this in the Los Angeles forum

Seriously, have you visited the city before you posted? Read the posts responding to the OP on this thread? Yet you still ask the same question?

Don't think you will have any issues at all. I live in Athens, my neighbors are of all races, creeds, etc. Just a lot of cool people, with some crazies who sport a big "A" all over the place in the fall. Total crazies.

Unlike the cool people who support LSU, GEAUX TIGERS!!

Welcome to Huntsville!

Alabama seems relatively hostile to illegal residents, but for legal residents it's fine. Huntsville is pretty diverse as it is a high-tech city with lots of engineering endeavors. I work in a very diverse workplace with people from all over the world. It's great.

My kids go to Huntsville City Schools, which seems predominately African-American (Providence Elementary / Williams P-8) so you will be a minority there as my kids are.
