I used Designer Granite & Marble (Madison) and was happy with both the countertops and full splash they did in my kitchen, and I am picky.

I replaced counter top and backsplash recently. I am not very handy and it was not too hard. Also, there is not much risk because you can start the job and call in a handyman if you get overwhelmed. Trust me, I have started other projects that I botched and ended up costing big bucks because of my mistakes. A backsplash is a pretty safe DIY job.

Funny you should mention that: I just spend another $56 today fixing one of DG's screwups with their so-called plumbing job on my kitchen drain. The real plumber that came today took one look and went "WTF???". Had to go to Lowe's to get all the stuff to fix DG's cluster-you-know-what.
