Really impressed and looking forward to their official grand opening next week.
Great! I saw them in there yesterday getting ready, what current place does it compare too?

For those wondering how deesonic got invited to Pie in the Sky's opening, he has something to do with their "38 taps of craft beer"...

Good for Madison!

Terry's (Star Market) is still my first choice for take out pizza. I usually go to Sam and Greg's or one of the Mellow Mushrooms for dining out pizza.

I like thin crust, if someone has a recommendation.

Any good Belgian or German beers at Pie?

Thin crust - try Venice Pizza, you should be happy.

Still -its a pizza place, not a beer hall, I really need to start a pizza blog

Because I'm the resident beer nerd I guess?

Yes, they will have some Belgian beer, Delirium Tremens comes to mind. Not sure about German. The main focus is on local beers like Straight to Ale, Blue Pants, Yellowhammer, and Good People. That's becoming more and more of a big deal with local owned restaurants and forward thinking chains/franchises like Mellow Mushroom, Moe's BBQ and now Pie in the Sky.

How was the pizza?

Beer nerd - I need to sample more of the locals, but I'm a sucker for Duvel or Paulaner.

I agree that you're the local Beer Nerd, but I do claim the Belgian Beers as my specialty.
As ex belgian I did my best to support our local economy and invested lots of money in that local economy also.

And in the past 22 years living in N AL I'm still supporting my belgian beers ......
