The PDA day was kind of a non-event.
You kinda figure it would have to be? You'd have to be homosexual + in a relationship + comfortable with PDA + have your partner be comfortable with PDA + willing to do so in a Chick-Fil-A *long* enough for this to be a statement. Not many people for which all of the above would be true. Even among heterosexuals, I can't think of anyone over the age of 20 that is comfy with PDA beyond hand-holding or a quick peck. (I sure am not.)

I think a better sense prevailed in this case. Even the political gay activists realized this was a lose-lose protest. It does no good to aggregate the conservative majority. Being a minority, the only chance to gain acceptance is to appeal to the heterosexual majority for sympathy with a "just want to be accepted as normal" plea. The public display of "gay-ness" like the NYC / San Franscisco gay pride parade just turn the public off.

With a few exceptions like that moron mayor in Chicago, most politicians had a better mind to steer away from this event.

Hide your womens, hide your husbandes, hide your Chick-Fil-A.

Antoine is one of my heroes. He recently got arrested whilst driving his Mercedes. Expired license and the scent of mj wafting from the car.

He's the man!

Antoine Dodson interviewed by Cliff Sims, the leading GOP blogger in Alabama:

Yellow Hammer Politics » Yellowhammer Politics: Cliff Sims talks Chick-fil-A with Antoine Dodson on WAPI

The WAPI radio interview excerpt runs ~16 minutes (but doesn't include the entire interview). Dodson says that he is developing a web-show for his commentary on current events. I look forward to it.

Dodson's popularity among conservatives in north Alabama may surprise some people, but remember that Dodson came into the public arena as a stand up guy - someone who protected his family. Dodson was interviewed by Dale Jackson of WVNN right after that incident and people identified with him. Dodson went on to make some money with the bed intruder song and for all I know he might get his own talk show someday (the future Anderson Cooper?). Dodson stood up again, this time for free speech and working people.

Yeah, I was bummed. I thought it was a hilarious idea.

In other news, I have recently learned that the construction at the corner of 431 and Sutton/Eastern Bypass in Hampton Cove is a new Chick-fil-a location.

Down the block from me. I don't eat there but SMART move for Chick-fil-A. I have no doubt that location will get a ton of business.
