Does that price include prep work? Rebar support?

Yes - it does. I inspected them.

But one caveat ---- they were already doing all that prep and rebar for the entire slab anyway (sunk costs for you accountants) - and they were there for the whole day already ... so it doesn't really cost them (incrementally speaking) to extend the slab by 120 sq feet more (out of 1850 they were contracted to do).

My guess is - if there was no slab work (in other words, come all the way and do that patio extension only), they would charge around $4.50 to 5.50 / sq ft. which would be $540 - $660 (which was the list price on the price sheet).

Plus, I don't think they would have given me 4-6 inches thick of concrete ... they gave me 4-6 inches because I they thought the patio cover would go over the entire patio slab. The roof only covers half.

That's a good price. I know there are different grades, but what we paid for the concrete surrounds on inground pools was over $8.00 sf. At least, that's what it was when I quit working last yr.
